No, I am not returning to work on The Hobbit ( The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Extended Edition should have wrapped up by now, so there’s no more Hobbit work down the line as far as I know). I am simply borrowing the phrase from the legendary author J.R.R. Tolkien’s book to describe my short leave from work (and ILM) to undergo a major shoulder surgery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After more than 4 months of rest and recovery, I am now back to work at ILM Singapore again, this time on a longer contract.
So what are my next projects. I’m sorry I have to keep them under wraps, but I think I’ll be able to share something soon. Please watch this space.
P.S. If you are asking about what happened to my shoulder, long story short, I dislocated my right shoulder during a mishap when trying to surf for the first time at Sentosa Wavehouse. I had my then swollen shoulder (after fixing it back myself) checked out by a GP doctor, but he said that it wasn’t serious and that I didn’t need to go for X-Ray checkup. Three to four years later, I picked up badminton again after what seemed like a long time. During these games (and table tennis), my shoulder popped out 3 times. So, that’s when I finally went for a MRI scan and found out that I needed to go for surgery. Thankfully, my father found the best Orthopaedic surgeon in town in KL, Dr. Charanjeet Singh. He has done an outstanding job with my shoulder so far! The scars were very minimal, people hardly noticed. Oh sorry, that supposedly short story went on for a touch too long already!
But seriously, if you have ever banged up your knee or shoulder badly and require expert treatment in Malaysia, please look up Dr. Charanjeet Singh. I am thoroughly satisfied patient!
Have a good weekend and thanks for visiting!
